    Hi,

You guys know how webmasters can back up their PHP/MySql websites? Can I do the same for websites created with only HTML and images (just incase of hacks or some unforseen circumstances)? If so, is their a name for this process so I can further research it?

Your hosting company may have a one-click backup system on the control panel. This may create a single file on their server, which you can leave there or download to your local computer.

Or, just open an ftp client and select every applicable file on the server, then copy them all to your local computer.

You might want to try HTTrack Website Copier to back your site up. It will replicate your entire site right onto your laptop or your desktop HD. Pretty nice!

Simply create a folder in your computer. Then use FTP to transfer the html file from your server to that folder. Its even more faster and easier than backing up a database.
Always make sure you keep a current version of your html file in your computer for safety.

If you have ssh access to your site the better/faster option is with a "tar" + "gzip" command.
Then download the file wih an "rcp" command or ftp program.

Another option, If you can run linux commands, you can do it yourself with a simple "wget" command (using -r option).

CPanel allows for compressing folders. Just select public_html. Click compress. Download the zip/tar.gz file.

Copy & Paste folders to your desktop, then you're done.
