Can I avoid the sandbox?

Couple of sandbox questions.

We're going to branch out and provide a new service through a reseller program.

I've thought about launching a new domain to promote this service... that would, of course, probably land me in the sandbox for year.

The other option is to build a new page/section on an existing, established domain, then promote that page...

Would the sandbox apply to this new page on an existing domain?

OR, would it not make a difference...

OR, does the sandbox apply to new LINKS and not new SITES? Or does it apply to both?

Thanks. BTW, established site is PR5, so our new page would probably pick up good PR right away...

If promoting the new service ties in with the theme of your existing site and doesn't look out of place then it is definitely a better option to create a new page for it. A new domain will land itself in the Sandbox surely. A new page won't.

 

In my experience, launching a new service as a branch off an old domain avoids the sandbox.

 

It's a workaround, but it should work IMHO.

 

Do it from the existing site. Maybe use a subdomain.

Google treats subs as new domains so you may still suffer sandbox effects off subs
