I have a domain that was banned for 2 years, can I write to Google to get them lift the ban. Has anyone every try that before?

It depends on what you got banned for. Google won't tell you, but if you were running the site, you probably know what you did.

Sure, you can file a Google reinclusion request. It's not hard to do.

    First, see these:
    http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/reinclusion-request-howto/ (blog post with tips)
    http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/video-reinclusion-requests/ (video with more tips)

Of course, make sure your site is 100% clean of questionable practices before filing the request ~

Then, follow the steps to file a reinclusion request:

    Good luck!
    cheers ~

have you increased traffic through other search engines in those 2 years? You might as well try emailing them through reinclusion. Re-do your sitemap before emailing them.

I hear that it is no use to ask for Google, UNLESS you are really "misunderstood".
