If you contact other blog owners with blogs related to the topic of your blog and tell them what you're doing that a quick post about it on their blog would be appreciated. It would be a win-win situation because their readers would have a chance at winning a LCD TV. The short answer no. Yep, all depends on how many people see your offer. Truth to be told, a lot of sites run these kind of give-aways and unless you've got something substantial/unique to offer you won't get a lot of publicity from it.
Contests act like a good link bait so you can get some valuable links to your site. Whether it is a $100 contest or a give away of some sort, you will get SOME attention
