Can google search work on a site that uses html only?

    Hello. I am trying to add a google search on a site, but the site only
    had html. Thus, it is not a virtual directory and does not have server
    side capabilities. I have already signed up for a Google API Key and I
    have found scripts to help me enable the google search but for php. If
    this is possible for a site that uses html pages only, can someone send
    me an example. Thanks.
