Ok I got my adsense account banned today. And yes I am not here to get tips on how to get it back or blame google for it. But I am just wondering how could google be this stupid. Here's my story I started using adsense 2 week ago on my blog. I get 200-300 visitors daily mostly from India and US. And so far I got less than a dozen clicks. Why?? Because users are more important to me and I don't want to irritate them by bombarding them with these ads everywhere. So I put these ads in just 2-3 of my posts to test them out first. Then I found a great site reddit.com( I am sure you know about it), and submitted 1 of my post there. And it went viral. Surprisingly in a matter of hrs it reached the front page of reddit(for some time) and in just 8 hrs I got 4k visitors to that post. This all happened yesterday. And today I open my blog check out my stats, check out my clicks and there I see that google just banned my account. How?? Why?? I start to wonder. No I dont click on my own ads. I don't ask others to click my ads. I don't buy any traffic. I don't put ads in any position that misguides users to click the ad. And I don't use any blackhat methods.The only valid reason that comes to my mind for blocking my account was the 4k traffic I got to my blog in those 8 hrs yesterday. I guess google thinks I bought that traffic. And now I wonder how could google be so stupid as to not know the difference between genuine and fake traffic?? I am not worried about my account. I did appeal to them. Lets see if they take back genuine people or not. And the few $ I earned don't bother me either. I just hope they get more engineers to there team and build something which isn't this lame.
just send them email and explain to them what you've explained here. something happened to me too, they removed my site from search, the visits decrease 90%, maybe this is different issues but after 3 weeks the visits went up to normal stats, worth to try
yeah did that and now am waiting for the reply. Will update you when I get the reply. Its frustrating nonetheless..
If you can submit to reddit and get a post to go viral then you have a nice money earning technique on your hands, Take adsense off your site and pop affiliate banners or cpa offers there and try again.
I know. I was looking forward to start affiliate marketing once I start getting a decent amount of traffic from google search(1000 a day atleast). And I dont think people from reddit are potential buyers. Most of the people there are to read latest things happening around the world. Not to buy products. And maybe I just got lucky. That doesn't mean I can do that again and again. I do love reddit though.
Really, Reddit and those other social media sites are just good for spreading "link bait" in my opinion. The best you can hope for, after the initial jump in traffic, are a few influential sites to link to you. The only real buyers are people who are searching for specific items online and those who follow your site regularly. Anyway, I am sure that your account will get reinstated.
Are you sure you didn't do anything else? Like many other websites, I have gotten in the front page of Reddit many times and have received a lot of traffic and know problem with adsense. You probably had Indian traffic from another spammy source.
I don't think, you are being banned due to the traffic you got from reddit. We all know that, if we can analyze and distinguish the specific traffic from google analytics, then how can't google know, if the traffic you got are legit or not? And referral traffic from sites like reddit, digg, stumbleupon, delicious are genuine. So, there might be another reason for your account to be banned. Update us about what google have to say regarding this matter in this thread!!
