Google is trying its level best to enter into social networking.
After the launch of google+ , Facebook has adopted a killing spirit to maintain its superiority with additional facilities.Google+ has tried to copy a similar pattern of social networking as of facebook instead of creating something new and concrete.Even for that much , facebook is coming forward with hard competition.
Country like india has still lot potential so both can grow but in developed nation there is no doubt that it will be not be a win-win situation for both.

Google + is a new product of Google, However it’s taking away the people’s interest from Facebook and people switching to Google +. I’ve heard of people who have stopped Facebooking and small aged going back to Facebook, because of age barriers, which is a good thing. “(No one below 18 can sign up there) !!!

I just heard about this Google+ thing. It looks okay but I'm not sure if it will beat facebook, but it potentially could. They are both very high on the radar.

I don't think Google+ will replace FB or beat them. They will get their own niche. They took few things from facebook, like +1 (FB like button),but not all. I found Google+ much simpler. FB is too complicated, too many things, too heavy. Google+ simple like Twitter, but give many FB options. And, don't forget it is Google. Most of webmasters will use Google+, just because it is google and may help them to increase popularity of their websites. And it looks like links on your google+ profile are normal - dofollow, not like FB or Twitter. FB is too commercial now, too many disturbing things, while google+ is plain and professional.

Still as I think the functions of both Google+ and Facebook are almost same but Google + is not for SEO. And the thing about the race between both, the best is always best.
    So?????

Thing about Google is that they are literally everywhere. Biggest search engine, most visited and most well known site on the entire planet. People have Gmail - Google. People have Android - Google. People have Blogger - Google. People have Youtube - Google. People have Google - Google. They are in people's homes, and in are in people's lives more than they even know. If anyone can take down Facebook, it's Google.

It's not about people switching over to G+. It's about getting that new crowd and building off that, people will eventually convert. Myspace use to be king, but they were dethroned only because they shot themselves in the foot. I see the same thing happening with the privacy concern with Facebook. They continuously shoot themselves in the foot. They are not even profitable. I just don't see Facebook lasting long term. It simply cannot do battle with a giant like Google.

If Google puts its efforts into G+, it'll be the king of social networking, no later than 2 or 3 years.

If I were Zuckerberg, I'd cash out right now. The Facebook bubble was going to pop with or without G+, but I think Google's presence will accelerate it.
