Hello everybody. I am confused of an issue. 1-Can google discriminate differences between comment links and blog post links? 2-Can google discriminate differences between signature links and the links in post? And evaluate different? Thanks in advance for your answers.
Google picks out comment links when you are making comments on blogs have Disqus or other Javascript based commenting software and gives it much lesser weightage(I'd still refuse to believe that Google no longer credits Javascript links)However, in Drupal blogs the comment is seen as in-post as you have to login/register and put up a hard link on the page. You can verify the same by using any service that allows you to view a page as a Search engine would scan out.
That makes sense. I don't think Google can tell about forum posts and sig posts, through. However, the more posts you have on a forum, the more your signature shows up in pages and the more Google can follow links to your site.
I thought that google just follows the anchor texts in the signature links. But whether it differs the post links from signature links is still what remains hidden to me.
It definitely gets watered down with all of the other signature links and links in the post, along with how many individual pages a forum ends up with. Especially on a popular forum like DigitalPoint
I don't think it's all that easy to discriminate between in-content link and navigation / comments / SIG links, but I am sure almost search engines are trying to improve their algorithms.
All that is easy to have less value. This is no different for search engines. A blog that has a PR4 with 10 comments surely will have a value greater than a PR5 with, for example, 100 comments, since the more links, the greater the division.
A link is a link -The only difference comes from the anchors and from nofollow vs. dofollow links. Also javascript links which are nor recognized by motors.
