On another forum I was advised against 3 way links. The poster said .... "The engines can spot this, and there's a pattern of your doing it regularly, there's little doubt you're trying to deceive them." I can't imagine that the search engines can detect 1 on 1 deals for 3 way links opinions? Lisa
Not efficiently atleast. And I don't think you should be really worried about them, especially if they are related to your sites.
Just don't over do it and you'll be fine. Same with reciprocal linking. You wont get penalized for a reaonlable amount of reciprocal links, some 3 way links, and a bunch of one way links. Mix it up.
Sorry axe... you're wrong about this. G and Y engineers and the programs they create can detect 3 way linking schemes very easily. I mean come on folks... you do a backlink check on your competitor and see who's linking to them. You click on one of those links and see who's linking to them. You click on another and... VIOLA... your back at the base camp. Recip links are becoming less worthy rather quickly in determining page ranking in Google.
A single three way link wouldn't raise any supicions, but any defined link strategy or network is possible to spot fairly easily.
