Google once threatened to build a Windows OS killer, however, several years later, the much publicized Google Chrome seem to be dragging its feet. In my opinion, Google chrome is lame. What do you think?
Google Chrome can't compete with Windows 7. Why? Because Google Chrome is a browser instead of OS. Of course, in my eyes, Chrome OS can't compete with Windows 7 too.
As far as I know google wants to create it's own OS but I don't heard any latest update from that news.
Who know's google is always trying to take a bite out of something. If they think they can they will. Taking a bite out of windows will require a very big mouth to chomp that one down. I don't think they are ready for it or could really handle it. They will be better off biting into other little guys until they build up more control of everything, which they seem to be after. Once they control more, if they can control more they might have a very slim chance. It will be years before they could even think about making that happen.
Nothing in this world can ever hope to compete whit the brainpower Microsoft gathered over the years . Microsoft has 3 decades in witch they hired the best of the best. Google might get a nice profit but nothing can even remotely touch the Redmond giant .
I think Google should slowdown. They step into other markets too much. The SE market is google market. Now they step into telecommunications, VoIP, long distance, cellphone devices, internet. Directly competing with Skype. Google checkout competing with PayPal. Looks like whoe eBay business now targeted by Google. Google must stop, before they become monster that everybody hates. I want competition, but not monopole.
The Chrome OS isn't being built to compete with mainstream installations of Windows 7; it is being built as an OS for netbooks rather than high end PCs, and it is based on cloud computing. It is good enough for doing everything that one does in a web browser, but not good for things other than that. It is going to be very successful, just like Android is, without really hurting Windows in a significant way, because of being targeted at and built for a different market. I will definitely be using it on my netbook, but I will not uninstall Windows and switch to it. Windows 7 is a very high quality OS, unmatched at present in the market for consumers. Mac OS X or Linux don't even come remotely close, and nor will Chrome OS. However, for the purpose Chrome OS is being built, it will definitely become the market leader. I will use both the operating systems on a regular basis and will ditch neither for the other, and that's how I see most others going about as well. When it comes to desktop PCs, installing Chrome OS might not even make sense in the first place.
Hi, I think Google Chrome is only a trial product from Google to enter the operating system arena. I don't think it would be a good opponent of MS Windows 7 as Google's other products like Google wave, Google buzz. have a nice day,
Above was a complete answer for the topic Green added. Google Chrome OS built with personal device OS oriented and not a mainstream PC. However, I have heard that Chrome OS will be used for mechanic industry as well like an automated car or intelligent car. As Montreal Classified, Google should pay more attention to their core business instead of expanding like a bull. It is too fast and not every software they made could be success like Android anyway.
Agreed, Google should learn from the mistakes made in form of their failures like Google Buzz and Google Wave etc. However, when it comes to Chrome OS, I have used it's vanilla build which is out there compiled by some people from the available source code, and I must say that the purpose for which it is being built, it is a very solid OS and looks really promising. Though yeah, it has a long way to go for sure. By the way, you mentioned 'Green added', and I didn't quite get that, I'm new here. Mind telling me about it? As far as Google's expansion is concerned, it might seem alarming but so far they've been very ethical with their business practices and have encouraged healthy competition. In fact by venturing into several of the markets Montreal Classified mentioned, they have brought competition to markets which previously had a monopoly of only one major vendor, with no significant competition. With this competition, there gets to be a huge incentive for innovation which ends up in the end users getting better services at lower costs.
google chrome has nothing to do with the windows 7 its just another search engine for more information ....
Of course, Google OS cannot compete with Microsoft Win7. Windows 7 will be the most popular operating system in the nest two years.
We are not talking about the Google search engine, or even the Google Chrome web browser. We are talking about the upcoming Google Chrome Operating System. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Chrome_OS for more information.
