On Aug 11th, Google webmaster Matt Cutts published a news that Google was testing new generation of search structure. He said the changes of this structure called Caffeine updates. Caffeine updates is focused on the codes renovation and rewritting, which can enhance its expansibility and speed. There's no big changes in its interface. The updating involves crawl and pagerank etc, especially the index part. This time, the updating didn't directly set foot in our daily search life, but google invites the users to do test and feedback. I have searches serval words to compare, it has no big changes. I believe it will effect the SEO world and will be confirmed in the next few months. Is Google Caffeine Faster? As you might recall, Microsoft has recently unveiled their new search engine, Bing. And with the recent announcement that Microsoft's Bing is going to soon power the Yahoo organic search results, Google needed to do something to keep their market share of search. Google has unveiled a new test version of their search engine, which is being called "Caffeine". This is being touted as the "next generation of search". I wouldn't say it was much faster - since Google results are always really fast! This was also published in SEO pro news earlier today.
Is it real that you don't see any change in google caffeine search results from google.com? I noticed about 30% difference from all the keywords searched comparing these two search engines. Huge difference in seo point of view there. I wonder what new methods they use to calculate SERP ranking and what old method they have ignored. I suggest you to check properly on search results again. Matt Cutts also said not all users would realize the change, but those who always keep track for some keyword serp ranking, would notice the difference. Original google Caffeine google
I'm also getting better results on Caffine, some people have noticed caffine results appearing in main google.com results but I haven't - my google rankings seem to be dropping so i'm looking forward to caffine now. Google will always want to keep updating their ranking system to stay one step ahead of us guys!
