Google+ has the advantage of huge base of Gmail and Google search users, so yes G+ is going to give tough times to Facebook in social media market. Although the features are pretty much same except for hangouts.
Facebook is also upgrading the site one step further with collaborating with Skype which I think is a good move by them. The thing that works in the advantage of Facebook is the trust and user acceptance that it has build over the years, all around the globe.

I don't think Google will beat Facebook because in every parts of the world from city to urban facebook has fans and whenever if some one searches from google and when facebook appears in search results the person, visitor cannot see the content unless and until he is registered to facebook which means he must register and see the content, page. Now Facebook has become different search engine Google knows about it and are afraid if facebook becomes a biggest different search engine then facebook beats google in advertising revenue and guess what facebook is doing? beating google by right now. This is the first time i am seeing fear in Google search engine. There should have been a competition and there is competition now.

It definitely does have the ability to do so. This really will be an interesting battle to be honest. Facebook is a multi-billion dollar corporation that has been established, while Google in a way does have a monopoly in many areas, and is known for its success. Looking forward to see how it will unfold.

we cannot rule out the possibility as Google is always known for doing something different and this time though Google Plus looks a bit difficult to understand, it will surely do something to enhance its features and make it more user friendly.

Google has for once played their cards right, after several failures at trying this before (for example google Buzz and several more). They've created a hype through having the amount of users on the beta version limited, and we all know that we want what we can't have, am I right ;)?
Anyways, it might take them some time but as of now they're doing pretty well. http://tinyurl.com/3wkz7wl
With an estimate of 18Million users on the 20th of July and hundreds of thousands of people joining in every day throughout invites.
People whom are on Facebooks side of winning this battle, what are your arguments?

It is possible but will take a long time. I personally don't want to use two social networking sites. I was pleased when myspace finally died off. I think google+ will have to really do something that shows they are better, likely in the privacy and sharing settings... Will be interesting if they integrate the both of them, that would be nice so you can auto post from one to the other.

People are always in search for something new, especially online. Thus, there is a possibility that Google+ may overtake Facebook in popularity, that is what happened to Myspace and other social networks when Facebook was launched.
