I have a number of job sites, all had been progressing well until one suddenly went backwards, the most odd thing is that some phrases dropped to page three and four, although we still have domain related phrases on page one...BUT, the most important phrase which had climbed to 3 on the front page over a long period has gone altogether from the top 50 phrases? This was about 6 weeks ago....since then I have kept building links, stripped out some of the text on the home page to make sure that phrases was viewed as spam, but still no sign? anybody any ideas site is uksales-careers.co.uk phrases on question 'sales jobs' other phrases sales recruitment was at 3 now page 4 , sales vacancies was page 4 now page 16...jobs in sales was at 2 now page 2? Ideas greatly appreciated
Hmm, maybe it's your link building, I see heaps of low quality and spammy links from social sites and the usual suspects, but just a few quality ones.
..granted my SEO work hasn't been pretty, had I said before I started what I was doing I'm sure many would have said don't...the bit I find confusing is the lack of consistency, I kind of expected to be guided by results...I have other similar and equally competitive sites doing really well from a similar basket of activities....and the phrases in question this site were all following the same pattern heading for the top, then, the bottom fell out for just a few phrases on a couple of sites.
If your site is still in the Index then you are not banned. You mention several job sites.....probably you interlinked them thinking you could outsmart google.....WRONG Also the links you built are poor...... You ranked well due to the new links but once Google scored them for quality you suffered the same fate 90% of the other webmasters online suffer.... Hire a professional next time
updates proved to be negative to your site b/c is wasn't as amazing as other sites... or one of the google bot checkers found your site to be not as effective as the others... who cares that your site lost a place?! It fluctuates... there isn't anything to worry about if you're supplying what's demanded..
if its one phrase only you could have overcooked the optimisation and hit the Google "950 filter" or "phrase-based spam detection patent" head on over to webmasterworld where they have a constant thread running about it and set aside a day or two's reading on it to familiarise yourself http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/3691419.htm a quick look at the tail end of the thousand results will usually show you quickly enough if thats whats happened
"stripped out some of the text on the home page to make sure that phrases was viewed as spam," ?????????????????????????? Why would you expect to improve if you're purposely making the the page look spammy??????
