Can Google ban you anytime?

Can google disable a adsense account anytime? Or does it help if you have a good track record and keep in touch with them..

I have been with adsense now for the last 2 to 3 years.. Receive payment every month, keep checking my account regularly and mail them if I see anything unusual..

Now the big decision is should i leave my part time job and take this up full time? Can you depend on Google adsense for a living or is it just too risky?

    Yes Google can..
    Record may help also..
It can be risky if live in non-US friendly country...minimum according to my experience.....Many people here depend on living on Adsense. :)

As long as you follow their rules, it is not risky. They will not just ban random people. They want to keep your adspace so that they can keep making more money too.

Quit your job if you make at least Rs. 50,000 per month through adsense. Just for the record, I've been with adsense, almost since inception and have never had my account banned.

If you get 10 clicks a day and all of them are invalid, then you might be in trouble. On the other hand, if you get 100 clicks a day and 10 of them are invalid, Google will probably just discount the invalid clicks.

you can be banned for any reason...I suggest to have back up plans, dont put all your eggs in one basket...if you make enough, go the llc route....
    Good luck and congrats

Publishers who keep abreast of the TOS and Policies and keep an eye on the activity on their site rarely have anything to worry about. I've had external invalid clicks and Google has simply discounted them (ie, I didn't earn anything from them, but I also never heard nary a word from them about it)

Great to know that. so what basically your trying to say is, as long as higher percentage of clicks are genuine.. I dont have to worry about a few invalid clicks, by competitors etc

if my adsense was anything near my day job earnings, it would be tempting. i think it would be good to have multiple streams of earning like ecommerce. relying on adsense seems a bit risky imho.

IMO too...and consider this, if it was close to your day job earnings at the time you were considering quitting your day job, that means that you can handle both Adsense and your Day Job...so why cut your income in half?

One way of looking at it would be to quit your day job and put in that time and effort into adsense in order to increase your adsense revenue by 100% to 200%. This will more than compensate the loss of revenue from quitting the dayjob.

You, yourself, or others have been banned for "nothing" As I said in another thread, with so many people having NOT read the TOS/Policies, I think most of these "banned without reason" threads that we see here are simply because the poster didn't know what he was not allowed to do and was banned for something clearly stated in the TOS/Policies.

If adsense were guaranteed income, yes, but as it is, well, the eggs in a basket stated above holds quite true.

It's no reason to quit your day job if you can do well on both jobs. The proverb "dont put all your eggs in one basket" as above always true.
