Can google ban me for checking my friend's account.

I and my friend enrolled in google adsense program at about the same time, and both of us know each other's passwords, we sometime do check each other's account on our respective PC's so as to know each other's progress and to draw inspiration from each other.

My question is can google ban me for doing this?

You mean they will think you operate multiple accounts ..... highly improbable.

But better safe than sorry... why you need to check your friends account anyway... also disclosing account details is against TOS.

AND be careful not to click each other ads... dont make it appear like a click syndicate.

No No... that is not the case. We just check each other account sometimes in order to find out the money that we have made in the past month/week.

    Google says

So I would say letting someone else check your stats would be a direct violation of this.

just ask your friend if you need to know how he is doing. adsense is like a man's wife. do you stay in your friends bedroom to check how he is doing with his wife? :)

Sure sounds fishy... I wouldn't give my Adsense login to my mother... and these guys are sharing accounts to "see how they are doing"???

    Sure...

I would imagine that everyone who logs into an adsense account gets IP logged so the only thing would not to be clicking on your friend's site. But apart from that who's to say who can log into your account or not?

I'm sure on big sites an accountant must be able to access the account?

Whether or not letting your mates have a peak is a good idea, is your call.

I would have never done it. It is way too risky. What if your friend signs into your account in an internet cafe and then people click on your ads who are sharing the same ip.

I once read a great little tutorial about minimizing risk with adsense. I think it was posted over at WMW (I know, I can hear the groans) but the best part was:

Don't tell anyone about your AdSense sites, not even your family. Let them think you run a bestiality site, who cares?. At least they won't click on any of your ads thinking they are helping you.

That goes hand in hand with your question. Minimize risk! Why tempt something. If you have to ask if something unnecesary is going to get you banned, then why do it?

Exactly, why tell your friends about your sites, so they click the ads when you can just click your own ads yourself!

I agree with those who say it is risky... Sounds like someone young and naive... If one of you clicks on the other one's ads it is likely to cause problems, and as others pointed out there are all kinds of other scenarios that could be problematic.

Adsense is not a toy. :)
