Can GA ignore site owners and webmasters?

    Hi guys,

I want to ask something that bugged me in the last couple of days... Can I set GA to ignore site owners and webmasters? You know, people who definitely won't buy no matter what, can GA ignore them through IPs maybe?

For example; I don't want GA to count my partner or staff coming to my site. It's useless to count them.

    Thanks!

Look for Filter. You can filter by IP for sure...

right there! you can actually filter more than IP such as domains and stuff, but if your webmasters surf from a dedicated IP then you can filter that out

Dang. The answer is filter. It's right under my nose but I didn't see it. Thanks, camp185. Thanks, orionoreo. But here comes another issue... what if I don't know his/her IP?

Filters aren't enough if you have people you want to exclude and they are coming from all over the place or from dynamic ip addresses.

What you need to do in that case is exclude them based on cookie content. I can't post links yet so I can't show you but if you Google for it you should find it. The gist of it is excluded users land on a special hidden page of your site which sets a cookie. With that cookie set, they aren't tracked in GA.

If you don't know your IP address - just google "What is my IP" - you'll see the first site in the list - click on them and it will show you your IP address in big bold numbers.

I'm not putting the link of the site since I'm not sure if DP allows links in the comment section. If so, someone correct me - thank you.

You can just filter by IPs and get lists of IPs webmasters use -- most of our IPs are proxies, so it seems as though we could be from various countries.

Yes, you can exclude your own visits or staffs visits by using filter through giving ip range of entire office location or search your ip address or your partners ip address..
