Hello, Disqus and Facebook fan page commenting is part of what I am using... while Disqus is pointing to my URL, Facebook name (title) is pointing to my Facebook fan page. Both appear on the page where I post my comments... (only Disqus points directly to my site, the other first goes through my Facebook fan page and then from there to my URL) Question: do these links pass PR? I'm especially thinking about Disqus (similar to Intensedebate and other similar commenting systems). It seems like they're "do follow" (my "nofollow" detector doesn't mark them), but the Disqus is in a "snippet box", not sure if it's actually on the sites themselves... So, do you think these comments influence the PageRanks of my site?
Facebook doesn't increase the page rank. Facebook has no follow external link structure However, Disguis comment can increase ranking if the link is do follow. Make sure you do legitimate comment. Spamming won't work now.
That's not exactly what I meant... and it's "Disqus", not "Disguis"... The Disqus link appear in a snippet like thing... you have to click on your name and than it appears... If I type in www.mysite.com, Google finds all my Disqus comment-containing pages... and the links seem to be "do follow", but they are in a Disqus "box", not sure if that passes PR... (I am thinking of iframes now, but of course, that's not an iframe).
I used disqus for commenting but most of site my comment appear when I refresh the page then it doesn't appear, what is the problem?
I think that would also depend on the number of people who frequently visit the page or site where you post your comments. While it's true that commenting brings traffic to your site, it may also reduce the traffic if not properly used or implemented. Aside from that, the content of the site has to be worth reading or sharing. Otherwise, you might be affected by Google Panda if it is deemed to be of low quality, which could result to the reduction of page ranking for your site.
Disqus: Well, if you surfed internet about 6-12 months using google, you will find more blogs using this flatform. But Im using intensedebate which is similar because it contains commenluv that can help commenters to display their latest post by just writing the url of their site before submiting the comment. And of course, its good.
Disqus loads the comments via Javascript, which is not processed by Google (I think there are some Wordpress plugins that place the Disqus comments as HTML, though), so typically you're wasting your time spamming sites that use Disqus. Maybe try creating content that people want to share and write about instead? What a novel idea.
Mate who talked about "spamming"? The question was whether Disqus passes PageRank or not. I guess not... Believe me: I have plenty of content that people want to share and write about. That wasn't the question.
Placing a link for the purpose of manipulating page rank, search engine placement s spamming. Your concern is about Disqus passing Page Rank, which would come under that. Anyone can make a blog comment and place a link; why should Google trust it or count it? Blog commenting can be used in other ways, than dropping a link, for positive benefit.
I don't think FB will increase your site's PR but it'll increase traffic. Disqus may increase PR but I'm not sure...
