If I send emails to my customers, is there anyway through social networking or similar that they can create backlinks?
No, not possible that email can create backlinks, there are two ways to receive emails, through Outlook for eg, this are downloaded to the PC, whatever links on the email will not be captured. If the person is using webmail, do note that they need to login, so even if there is links in the email, Google cant trace it.
i create links in my mail,, it can drive traffic but not backlinks.. you can also check it in your site status from there.. it can answer your question..
google should really have a system for working out visits that come from web clients - sending bulk email, and it's responses, all points towards the quality of a website.
This would be technically not quite possible as doing that may infringe upon users' privacy. Can you imagine if they can track the back links to your Out Look email, would you feel secure? For me I would feel my privacy has been infringed upon.
It will pass good traffic towards to your site, but i don't think it will be considered as back links for your website.
hmm, well i have mail.live.com (hotmail) as a referring site multiple times in my analytics, so they are being counted. they just need to be given more weight.
Easy - just maneuver your clients into some lawsuits, and petition to have all their emails subpoenaed. Have the cases heard before a modern jurisdiction, so when the court puts them into the public record, they are placed online. Best of all, you'll end up with .gov backlinks.
Does this apply to gmail? I thought Google used e-mail information for marketing and search purposes.
It's wise to include a signature link in your emails for traffic purposes. In most cases you are likely to be a "trusted" person to the recipient of your email. So there is an increased likelihood of them clicking on your link
Yes, These emails to your customers don't generate back links but its a way of marketing of your products and services.
