Can dot me TLD's rank well in google US ?

I have a bunch of keyword .me's ...I was wondering can they rank well in google US ?

 

It is quite likely. Why you ask? I think this should have no difficulties......

Yep. It's more than just backlink building though. You need to have good quality content on your site, not just scrapped content. You site needs to be well optimised too

 

I just heard they were for Montenegro... and people had a hard time getting them to rank

 

Since .me domain is an extension specifically for country of Montenegro. I would say you have to put 300% in efforts to get it ranked well in Google.com. Common Domain TLD such as com / net / biz / org / info has nothing to do with SEO, both positive nor negative neither.

However, Specific Country Domain TLD such as .co.uk (Britain) .co.jp (Japan) com.vn (Vietnam) is a total different. You can get this type of domain ranked easier for certain country. As .co.uk you can get ranked easier in Google.co.uk for example. Since this kind of domain is originated to be a country specific, it would be harder to get them ranked in global like Google.com.

 

Its difficult but not impossible. You have to give your best shot to get the higher ranks.
