Can CSS cause you to violate TOS?

I noticed over at ProBlogger that his AdSense referral text link highlights just like any other link (sample at http://www.problogger.net/archives/2006/05/02/blogburst-officially-launch/#comments ).

Would this be a TOS violation or not? I've been thinking of going the text link route, but I'm afraid that any CSS modifications I might have (not exactly like ProBlogger's mouseover highlighting) might make AdSense consider it a violation, even if every other link has the same situation.

    Thoughts?

Hmmm, when I visited, it didn't highlight when I moused over. In my opinion, this would be a violation of TOS, but when in doubt, just zip an email to Google.

The referrals in text forms adopt the style of the CSS, it's normal behavior since their introduction, maybe Alfie1848 thought you were talking about AdSense blocks which (unfortunately) don't react the same way.

No, I meant the referalls. I like the way ProBlogger highlights the outbound links, but I'd hate to do it if I use text link referalls, since TOS says you can't bring attention to the links. I doubt this would break TOS, but who knows.

You're correct, I read through the post a little too quickly.

the link is just using the code AdSense gave me from my referrals page. If it's breaking their TOS it'sa problem with their code.
