If I have a landing page in which I have some CJ banners....and I am driving traffic through the site through... 50% Through adords 25% through links in signature in forums 25% through various ads and links Will CJ know this information... can they detect from where the traffic has originated to my landing page?
They absolutely can. But they won't invalidate your clicks unless you are breaking the specific merchants' TOS, I guess. In this case, shooting a mail to the merchants is probably the best thing you can do.
I am promoting Mozy.com through the signature links in this forum an other forums. I have contacted the merchant and he said it is OK to drive traffic like this. I hope CJ sends me my money.. But is it really possible for the to detect the source of clickthrough to my page. How can they have so much control over the page in my website... Google Analytics detects the source since we have the java script installed. But in CJ banner there is only the HTML link!
I think in order for them to know the source of the traffic they have to have a code installed on you web page. At least that's how some trackers work. I would like to know how Google would know the source of the traffic.
if you fed the page to your own website and redirected it and reset referer information they would not know where it is coming from. If you are worried about this, you can certainly control it.
