I'm not saying that vendors do this, but do they have access to your landing page/keywords? Has anyone ever had trouble with this in the past. Thanks, Vene
I'm not sure on all the specifics, but they could easily see any page where you are placing a tracking image. (Basically any page where you place an affiliate link.) I've heard a few stories of unscrupulous affiliate managers that quit their job and then rebuild ad campaigns they've discussed with affiliates, but that's few and far between. There are bigger threats out there than that.
No they can not steal your keywords. Consider this.......They are multinational corporations and or firms, would you think they would not know they keywords already or have maximized the keyword already? what makes you think your keyword is unique to your website? Do keyword traffic research relevant to your site and you will relize no one is stealing keywords. Use freash content that is unique to the keyword. those companies have more money than you. What makes you think they have not done research on simple keywords to similiar sites as yours. They are squeezing you out. Research and reconfigure your site to adapt to marketing and advertising.
No, they cannot. As a CJ advertiser, I can tell you that CJ removes all query strings from referrers, so even if you're sending direct to merchant from Google, all the advertiser will see as a referrer is http://www.google.com/search , and not http://www.google.com/search?q=keyword . The only people who can see full query strings is CJ's internal fraud investigation department, and they will not under any circumstances release the full addresses (surprisingly even when the publisher is not involved in PPC). You'd be wise to watch out in CPA networks, but merchants in CJ cannot steal keywords.
I don't konw how you know this johu, but thanks! you answered my question. I realize other companies have this information, esp if you don't cloak your links really good(IE: Clickbank). Either way CJ Rocks! I should be accepted by Azoogle by tommorow. Thanks Vene
