Hi, This is kind of my winge, I have been marketting for others on Youtube, mostly for members on DP, most the time members don't know what they want - so it's up to me to make the theme and video, most the time based on the members site. I have found that some people are just so hard to please, so instead of making one video to promote I was making three - surely (I thought) one out of the three videos would be suitable. Sometimes and most the time this is the case, however I have had members delete all three after a days worth of work (with 1000s of plays and 5-10 honors already) and promotions, then they demand another one. Here's one case : 15 Honors and close to 3000 views in a day, and yet the DP member still manages to complain about Return on Investment - now for $30 I think that's on hell of an investment - am I wrong ? Marketting on Youtube : Here are my thoughts on Youtube Marketing and Promotions : The idea is to get 1000s of plays within first day - ~ This is to ensure you get maximum exposure early, ~ Most youtube crawlers and bots grab videos within this time. ~ Most honors are worth more and Youtue surfers are more likely to search the popular today videos. ~ Once you get the initial Plays - they start to flow natural. Crap Video VS Good Video : ~ Sometimes the content doesn't even matter. ~ Even the worst videos can go viral - such as check out this crap video and how did it manage so many views/honors etc. type comments will create a certain hype. The Youtube Bots and Video Gabbers : ~ A sexy and revealing video will get a much bigger reach and audience. ~ Bots only crawl based on the content, description and tags. ~ Most are searching for Sexy, Raunchy Videos. ~ The description text - always has/have a URL within it as all the crawlers will most likely grab the description which includes your URL - which creates type ins and more exposure. The traffic Generated : Youtube Hits sent : Most members completely ignore the Bots and Crawlers influence, and thus only measure the effectiveness of the campaign based on visits sent from Youtube - this is only a small part of the Campaign. Most members also think that once the initial plays are over - then so is the campaign, nope wrong - the bots and crawlers influence has only just began and the influence from Youtube type video sites is only just taking effect. ONE VIDEO isn't enough This is the biggest dilema, one Video is not enough, some members think "well that campaign or video hasn't worked and that was a waste" , wrong : Anyone who is popular or even promotes on Youtube knows that just one video isn't enough, for example do you see just one Coke or Maccas advert on T.V ? no they keep pumping them out at you and this is branding !! So is Youtube it's a form of Branding and getting into your customers head. Better wrap it, thanks for reading this far. Jason

Well, of the 3000 who viewed that video, how many went to his site, and of those, how many bought? Hate to say it, but even at 3,000 views, ROI is still going to be very low.
Yes but that's not the main objective, there's over 300 links to that video now, so basicly that video is now playing on 300+ sites .... so imagine the reach, my highest so far is 3000 links to video. So that's possibly 2000-3000 video embeds, 2000-3000 times my url is on someones page within description. It's the reach and branding that counts in my opinion.
Sounds like a great deal to me, Even if you dont get much of the Initial 3000 or so hits the video will keep playing for a long time and hit will keep coming to your site
