Can AutoBlogs actually make money?

I heard of a Wordpress plugin which is supposed to turn your Wordpress blog into an "auto-blog", meaning it will find content from other RSS feeds and combine it together to create keyword-rich posts and titles, and then post the link to Twitter. I could see how this might work, but it's hard to imagine visitors wouldn't notice random content placed throughout the blog post.

If anybody has used AutoBlogging software before, please feel free to share your insight!

    Not at all!!!

The best way for making a good income (from adsense) is to post fresh content - It can increase your Cost Per Click. Moreover blogs with bad content is really a waste of time for readers. So make your blog look fresh and unique even if you spend more time on it.

I have to agree with the previous post. It's better to concentrate on providing your own, high quality content. That's what will attract visitors over time.

@2,3,4: It's Theory. If you can't write good, let collect good RSS. Money will come, but not very much

The truth is yes autoblogs make money if in the right niche with enough backlinks. I have a friend that stop blogging and turn his blog into an autoblog and let it sit for 5 months. That autoblog makes him around $500 a month (adsense). So there is money to be made. Just not as much money as if you took the time to build up a real blog.

This was my thinking, if I let a Wordpress plugin take care of the content I can focus solely on marketing and promotion. That means a lot more time spent gaining traffic, which (to what I can figure) would result in a very successful autoblog. Although that could just be me being hopeful, so...

Auto blog makes money BUT first of all you gotta write yourself and make your blog famous and have nice and stable traffic. then theres no harm in transforming in autoblog.

With the right placement of adsense. Im sure it would make money. i would set a goal like $1 a day. if you dont like the income from it. you could always sell it based on the income. 10x the monthly revenue would be a quick $300 after you get it to $1 a day.

I'd set up an twitter account for it with the wordpress plugin to auto update the twitter every time a new post is added. Also make sure it has your niche most often used or searched word as the hash tag on twitter.

The twitter set up works great for my niches.

You could probably make some sort of money, but by talking to a few people who I know work with such blogs - it really isn't too feasible.

The best way is to create an original blog in which you can devote a significant amount of your energy. This will ultimately lead you to produce the best possible content, since your time is being directed into one project. Blog readers crave content, and if this is what you can give - coupled with effecient advertising - then you could definitely make some serious money.

I make trickle income with my autoblogs. I do not own many though. The idea is that you are playing a numbers game. Shoot for quantity, quality, and lifespam, and the small cents all up to big figures if you are willing to do the work.

Yes, they do. One of my autoblog leeches about 300 posts each day and makes me ~$35/day!

That's very impressive, even though it's on a .in TLD it can still draw in that much traffic and earnings. Very impressive, good luck with that for the future!

I think you can make much more money with a real blog instead of an autoblog. Who wants to follow a robot?

autoblogs generate a good income at start but when Google know about that it is banned from there. But before that you can earn a good revenue. May me you are getting through the hard luck and don't get single penny for that that is what you called business. You can just give a try to this and can know your own.

I guess auto blogs are against the terms of Google adsense, though it can bring you some traffic without much efforts.

What about running other advertisements on an autoblog? Things like AdBrite, Bidvertiser, Y! Publisher Network, etc... I wonder if you could make money with those on an AutoBlog. Or even running affiliate links or BuySellAds, it's all worth a try
