I didn't really check it out but if you are looking to make a DESKTOP Application you could use any major programming language. C++, C#, Java... Personally I would use C#...

Any of the popular compiled languages would work. Why not just package a browser and do it in HTML/Flash though. So much easier as the heavy lifting is already done for you.

Hello and thanks for your reply. I am looking to develop a cross platform app, not a website. I guess theres the same reasons as spotify dont have just
a website. Also guessing flash apps (air) are slower on windows, as i see spotify is faster that wimp..?

Supposed to be built with custom interface for each win, mac, android phones, android tablets, iphone, ipad

You won't be able to build a cross platform app. It will require a rewrite and possibly in a different language depending on your target.

You don't even know what you are talking about. Don't guess.

You are going to build a separate application for Windows, mac, android, and iphone...

This is because i heard many people talk about this saying wimp is much slower on a windows os than spotify (many cases of this). Reason i am guessing
is that i myself havent tried wimp cause it costs money. Have you tried both wimp and spotify and can tell me this without guessing?

A lot of languages are very similar but I think its probably Java but I'm sure there's a program better suited.

That says that a single language won't do the job. You'll be using a few languages. (Android and iPhone in one language? Not for a serious program.)

    Win - C++
    Mac - Java
    Android and iphone - ?

Allthough i see Adobe Air advertise their apps to function on all of the above?

Win - a few different languages
Mac - a few different languages
    Android - Java
    iPhone - Objective C

Adobe Air isn't a programming language, any more than "green" is.
