    Well I agree with gizmoboy and techtricker. Photoshop is the best to crop the images. Well you can also try gimp as it is similar to photoshop. Also the basic one is MS PAINT :)

    You can use Paint.net as an alternative to Photoshop, its free.

    use Photoshop, you can use the rectangle tool to cut a piece of an image out or use the crop tool to crop the image entirely, results are usually very good!
