how much traffic do u need? and whats ur budget? in hosting business, cheap things come up pretty expensive on the end...so be careful choosing the right host
Cheap is not problem at all I can name a large number of good hosting services below $4 a month that I tested before moving to my own dedicated server. However, the problem is that cheap or expensive most shared hosting services do not allow running proxy sites.
And, uh, does anyone have a guide to building a proxy site? Never tried building one, but I know what they are etc..
Visit www.sourceforge.net and type in the search box "proxy" You will find scripts and documentation to set your own proxy site whether PHP, CGI or Java, basically
Good cheap hosts don't allow proxy's. They stay good and cheap by NOT allowing them. Get yourself a server - check out layeredtech - from $70/mth. You might want to consider a VPS (I would not recommend a VPS for anything)
Ah, $70 a month, thats alot for me right now. I understand what you said, but does anyone have any cheaper alternatives.
www.serverpronto.com offers dedicated servers starting from $29.95 I have not tried its services though
Layeredtech.com are cheap, and reliable. If you order, pm me first. You got to put some stuff into the comments field, like which DC you want to go in etc.
