I've started a short series of the photoshop basics, but am lacking the motive to finish the series... But if you want to check them out, http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gfxdude2010&aq=0 Not all of them are for photoshop, but you'll find a good many to help get you started using the basic tools.
Well, dude, first of all you need a goal. Yeah, sounds simple, but w/out it you can't go further - there will be boring lessons and senseless knowledge all over there. So, first, ask yourself what do you want to do with PS and then start learning. For e.g. goal is to create own CMS template, so you start digging templatemonster for examples, check the objects/blocks/effects/layouts they used to make site look great and start googling by specific queries like "photoshop how to make round corners".
