Can anyone inform me why my post count decreased??/

Hello all mods,

I have seen my post count are decreased by 30-40 posts. Is there any reason for that. Whether i had made any mistake. If yes then please inform me about it. It won't be done in future.

I feel that most of my post in Introduction section are being deleted. Is there rule about it. Though i was not doing much posting in it. But someone has suggested me that your posts per day is not good. So start some posting in Introductin section. And i have followed fellow members.

Sorry. I haven't check mail before posting this thread. Now i have check my mail. And warning is pointing about this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=1075964#post1075964 and reason is Post Has No Value

One suggestion is that apart from sending email. Give PM in this forum. So, user who haven't checked mails, can know about warning. Because like me all members love DP so much so they keep their presense in DP.

As my post is deleted, i have no proof. But i know i don't have posted any wrong thing over there. In Introduction section anybody can just post that welcome to DP. What else anybody can write in it. And i have just followed what all senior members are doing. And possible i may have made mistake in this thread but what the reason of deleting other threads???

And in the past i have also posted one thread regarding creating rule that in Introduction no matter how many post any memeber is doing just count 2-3 for a day. Check it out http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=88960&highlight=introduction+post+count

I am with this forum from May-2005. If i want to just increase my post count than i can do it way back. You can check it out that all my post are of quality posts.

Shawn I check user CP, but won't receive any PM over their for warning. And i am opening DP before checking mails in the morning.

Anyway i am again very very sorry, if i have made any mistake. It won't happen in the future. And thanks to you for replying and explaining me the reason.

 

sir shawn...i still think intro shouldn't count in the post count.

 

That's been suggested a LOT here. Though changing the setting in vBulletin is just way too hard to do. Click a no box, and press submit!! Way too hard to do!!!!

 

Yup. I have been the one to ask for that since the begining.

And all that junk from the chat board shouldn't count either,.

 

Mods should come up with any strategy for posting in Introduction section.

Because i am too frustrated with the punishment given to me. And i am thinking 3 times before posting any thread after Infractions. Infractions will remain till 4th August 06.

I have stopped to post new messages by afreading about Infractions. I have seen all senior people are posting in Introduction section and thats what i have done.

So, I think right now it is wise to stop posting. what you all have to say about it?????

With immediate effect it is better to exclude posts (that have been posted in introduction section) from post count. So that there will not be any further enquires on this subject. But it is a courtesy to welcome a new member and it should be born in mind that it is not for post count. I can't forget the cool and sweet welcoming words that I have received from my senior members of this forum when I joined.

 

I wondered where all the senior people had gone. Who knew they were all hanging out in the introductions forum.

 

okay, it goes something like this. when you're new (in post count terms), rules are a little tighter. so if you welcome 24 people a day, you will get an infraction. try sticking to 2 or 3 people a day.

once you're a little senior )), then you can start chairing a welcoming committee.

 

Advice: don't sweat the small stuff, or it will grow larger than you'll be able to control!

 

Same old story.. Posting for the sake of increasing the post count is not allowed. Make your contribution here usuful to other members.

 

so now we're going to get a post every day saying "why (the F*ck) my post count got decreased"...

 

It's simple. Don't welcome everybody with the same boring old message. Just like their introductions are unique, give them a member-tailored welcome. That way we'll leave it because it's original.

"Welcome to dp " is not a message we like to see. Waste of bandwidth and storage space. Try "Welcome to DP [member name], that's an interesting site you have there (you actually checked it out), where are you from anyway? What's your field of interest?" And mean it. No one is waiting for canned responses.

 

You don't get any PM telling about the infraction.

You will be shown Yellow(yellow green) blobs or Red Blobs in a column just above your Reputation column.

Please Do check that.
