Hello Everyone, I'm brain-farting here, when I search for a single term, both the simple and advanced search work fine, but when it's more then one word, I'm lost. I'm looking for "Microsoft URL Control", but all the search results come up either contain one or another word, not all three. Can someone help? Oh, even in quotes I get single word matches. thank you, tom P.S. Searching for Microsoft URL Control, since they keep hitting my site, and with errors too. My logs are full of it, and so am it.
Are you talking about searching this forum? Or searching the net (aka Googling)? Assuming it's the latter, you'll find several listings here: http://www.google.com/search?source...LG:2005-20,GGLG:en&q=+Microsoft++URL++Control Uses the search query +Microsoft +URL +Control Code (markup): which instructs Google to list pages that include all three words.
Go to the advanced search, and search for the string within quotes, and set the search type to be Boolean.
I find vBulletin and phpBB search functions to be virtually useless. Instead try this: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...oint.com++Microsoft++URL++Control&btnG=Search It uses the Google "search this site" function, with site:forums.digitalpoint.com +Microsoft +URL +Control Code (markup): as the search query
You could take the results down about 97% by: "Microsoft+URL+Control" the quotes with the + symbol takes about 4.9M results down to 34K
