Can Anyone Give Me an Idea for a Logo?

Hey,


I'm about to start a wiki for a city and am going to promote it quite a lot (flyers, posters, newspaper ads etc...). I want to try and emphasise the community element of the wiki and sort of want to incorporate it into the site logo.

Anyone got any good ideas? I considered 2 people shaking hands but that's sort of stereotypical...

Also it needs to be relatively small 150x150 pixels or so, so the logo needs to be quite compact.

hmmm how about a hand holding a rod of some sort? or a skyscraper?

 

I dunno... not really sure if that's what I'm looking for... Maybe it would work but I can't picture how I could incorporate it into a logo.

Oh I forgot to say, I want the logo to consist of graphic and text if possible...

 

a couple of stereotypcial yet relavant ideas:
a) 3-4 hands holding each other's wrists to form a triangle/square.
b) Ppl of different sizes/colors forming a human chain.

Sticky figures shaking hands. Classic is not that bad.

 

How about many stick figures in front of a 'village' all facing forward or linking hands? Maybe thats too stereotypical...

 

Many UK cities have their own emblems. Glasgow's was a tree, a fish, a bird and a bell. I think the motto was - The tree that never grew, the bird that never flew, the fish that never swam and the bell that never rang. Doesn't sound very motivating does it, but I am sure there is a bllod-curling story to go along with it. Weird what you remember, eh?

Anyway maybe you could find out what the emblem of that city is and see if it can be incorporated in a logo with circled hands, shaking hands, black, white, yellow, heads, whatever.

Anyway I'll discuss these suggestions with my 2 partners (well more like friends really ) and see what they think!

The city is Edinburgh.

 

buildings created with blocks like youre putting together the city.

 

Include a flash animated cannon that goes BOOM ! at 1pm everyday.

 

I think Edinburgh's emblem is a blue poppy.

 

Lol - sort of a weird one but I like it! Not sure if it'd be suitable for the site though!

Is it? I've been here for nearly 2 years and I didn't know! I'll look into it!

Sounds like a good idea if I could design it well... I'll give it a go on top of the others!
