Sorry I'm too new to post a live link

    Hi

I am very new to affiliate marketing but have done a fair bit of research and this past weekend set up my first campaign. I started my adds on AdWords this Saturday evening and didn't expect to see too much until I did some some tweaking. My statistics for Sunday night

Impressions 4024 clicks 83 I'm pretty happy with this as my ad is directed to people ready to buy

    Now the good bit

4 sales at $33.92 = $135.68 couldn't be happier for my first day

This is great I thought. I have withheld the urge to run any further campaigns (apart from 1 very small numbers one) until I have a check in my hand. But today I am a little concerned

    Todays stats so far

Impressions 2131 clicks 56 I think that's going really well also as my CTR is up from yesterday.

Problem is it's 3.00pm pacific standard time (I'm in a different time zone) and I have made zero sales. Unless I'm missing something at clickbank, but I should be able to just refresh My account page to see new sales, correct?

So I guess my question is, is this normal? Should I be worried? The only changes I have made to my landing page is some extra key words in the page title.

    Thanks heaps.

Normal. In fact, by the time you read this, your Clickbank stats will probably be updated.

I promote a couple of Clickbank products and I find like other affiliate sales that its sporadic. Sometimes I'll get 3 sales in a day and sometimes nothing for a few days.

The key thing is to make sure you're tracking which keywords are converting for you then you can slowly weed out the non performers. I usually do this once a keyword hits 100 clicks and hasn't had a sale. 100 clicks and 1 conversion would be a 1% conversion rate and I figure that a sales page with a reasonable gravity should be getting at least that.

So stick at it and if I was you I'd try a couple other campaigns too (think of as being like having a portfolio of stocks - some perform better than others at different times but you're looking for an overall upswing) but it all depends on what you're comfortable with.

You were all right. I did make a sale that day and at least one every day since. Very very happy with my campaign. I will most certainly be starting another soon, am waiting for my first pay cheque to arrive first. Am getting my keywords and landing page ready to go though.

How do you go about tracking which keywords are making sales? I have basic stats on my landing page but I assume there is a better method?

    Thanks again.

I just posted about tracking on another thread. You can read it here:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=785136

The bottom line is that you have a few different options depending on how much control you want, how much you want to spend (if anything) and how easy to manage you want your solution to be.
