I would like to promote 2 sites of mine, 500 submissions each = 1000 submissions in total. Can anybody recommend any good submitter for price and reliability. I would like Excel speed sheet, but its not essential.

Noone does it as good as you are.

Do it yourself if you want quality.

If you want to do it well, do it yourself. If someone has a list of 500+ directories, most of them are garbage, which is fine, but keep that in mind. Also, not all of them are going to be indexed or decent links anyway. Having done plenty of manual submission for my own sites, I can tell you that directories are something that don't hold very high marketing value. You get almost no real visitors from it and very little link value. The only benefit is when you are just starting your site and are trying to rank for your domain/site name. Then you at least get a lot of links with that anchor text, but that's about it.

Ideastone, I respect your opinion. But I have helped a lot of small mom and pops rank for their important keywords with directory submissions alone. An example is a keyword for Hawaii. The client was ranked 110 in Google. One month later, he was ranked 19. His site was not in the top 500 of Live Search, and one month later he was at position 6. His rank in Yahoo improved, but not quite so dramatic of an increase. Directory submissions are a quick way to get backlinks, but certainly only a small part of a balanced link building campaign.

For $15 per domain, you can get digixmas.com which will let you submit to over 1000 free web directories. That's what most people use. If you want a free solution, get a free copy of roboform (for its form filling features) and try the free directory list in my signature. There's over 1,400 free directories listed, some of which accept deep links (multiple URL submissions).

better way is to come up with a list of 50-100 really good, non-spammy directories to submit. then use a tool like firefox autofill to manually submit if that's the road you wish to go.

    I use Internet business promoter.
There is an option, semi-automatic submitter. There I need just to fill in the directory list, and then to submit website. Easy, I like it. Autofill, several projects allowed, duplicate directories are removed automatically.
