You can't submit or it doesn't get accepted.

Before the big meltdown a year or so ago some submissions had been sitting around for 5 years. Unless you become an editor you just have to sit it out. If you become an editor atleast you'll be able to see what happens to it.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are plenty of places to get good one way links.

I should at least post your site.
May be the problem in your site, not in DMOZ?
I've peek into the first one in ur signature and failed to understand what it about. (in 1 minute revise.)
    sorry

Sites can take from a few minutes to several years to be reviewed, yes I am an editor. So if you have submitted in the last 12 months you can promote your site somewhere else, there is nothing more you can do to shortcircuit that review. And before you ask, no we do not tell you if you have been accepted or rejected.

There is no help. If you did follow the guidelines, and have submitted your site, then you have done your part. The rest is up to the whim of the editors. The wait time is up to two weeks or more, so just wait... no, no...don't wait, just move on. Promote your site in other ways and keep on working on the site itself.

Well, heh, eventually they will be right
