There are no legal restrictions to own domains that belong to another country. So yes, Indians can own .co.uk domain GoDaddy India allows you to purchase .co.uk domains
Well, that depends . Some registries require you to be a citizen of that country, to have presence in that country (like a company in that country), or to have a trustee. Thankfully, that's not the case for co.uk domains. To answer OP, yes, you can register .co.uk domains without any problem .
you can own the domain no matter where you are from. .co.uk main seller is www.nominet.org.uk. I got a email from them when i registered a domain in dynadot. So they accept it, then all registrars do, as by logging in to nominet you can transfer your domain between registrars and edit whois and such things. Hope that nothing limits you to register .co.uk from anywhere.
Nope , I had similar experience with .US domain that I owned. Neustar .US Nexus Compliance mailed me that I'm an NON-US registrant of that domain & so I had no authorization to use that domain unless I have a valid address proof in US on my name. They gave me 30 days time , as I failed to get them the proof , they released that .US domain from my hosting with due authorization. Immediately I had to call my close friend in US & asked him to register the domain when it was available immediately. I had no other means of protecting it without using my friend who is a US resident. This is true with .US domains , but not sure about other country domains. Anyway check with your domain registrar before registering to avoid unnecessary mental agony.
You can register .US domain names as an oversee entity conducting business in the U.S. or something. There is provision for that. Your GoDaddy account manager can tip you on that.
