This is exactly what almost everyone in this forum have in mind, that's why this sub forum is having very high traffic as well. I've used numerous keywords harvester/collector softwares(whatever you called it) but still haven't found one that really work. today I experiments with only adwords keyword tool to start a campaign, this is what I do today: I use adwords keyword tool to collect the keywords and enter max CPC to check the ad position (i am aiming to take between 4 - 6 position) re-group the keywords collected in order to create sufficient adgroups for the campaign. in campaign' setting I selects google and network search. Write 2 ads for each adgroups (for testing purpose). I am going to let it run for about 3 days and we'll see what happens. I'll post the result. If anyone has suggestion PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do.
sounds like a good plan. I think you need to ensure one thing. You need landing page tracking. Make sure google analytics is installed on the landing page and opentracker.com tracking.
I am posting the result for my campaign (explained on my previous post): after 3 days total impression I got are 2,265 I created 35 adgroups in total from the keywords I got only from google keywords tools I manage to get more than 40% CTR on some keywords I find it difficult to maintain between 4 - 6 position hence I need to adjust my max CPC everyday by 10 cent -which is still in my budget coverage- manage to make 3 sales cost : profit --> $1 : $2 I'll let it run for another 3 days and will post the result. Any advice on how to improve it? oh ya about robertpriolo's advice to install google analytic on the landing page I am affraid I can't do that since I am using direct-link technique.
Update 2 So sorry for being late to update, I really cought up with day-job. Here we go, I hardly checked my campaign progress last week and to my surprise when I checked it yesterday my position went up to 1 - 3 position without changing the max bid in fact I didn't even open my adwords account for about 1 full week. As a result my cost went sky high however my sales weren't increase significantly, I suspect it happenned because of too many happy clicks So I lower my max CPC about $0.30 which bring me back to 4 - 6 position where I find the best sales performance with reasonable cost. I also paused 4 unperforming adgroups (0 impression for 2 weeks!), and around 20 - 30 keywords from other adgroups. I did this with the intention to lower my impression while hopefully increasing or at least maintaining my CTR. Need advise about this step, anyone? I'll post the result in the next few days. Cheers,
it depends on your site .. at content ... for example -- keyword photos - 0.5 us/click credit card 10 us/click
I think your site must be good enough too to make a profit. Adword can bring you alot of visitors. But can you turn them into customer is another story.
