This may be a stupid question, but.....Can i use Adwords pointing to a newly created page to help get the page indexed more quickly? Or will it have no affect at all?
Definitely not. If you want to get indexed quickly, read this article.. How to Get Indexed by Google The tips in the article have worked *every* time.
Adsense is generated by javascript and javascript isn't understood by spiders so you get no PR or indexing benefit.
When adding adsense to your page you copy and paste a block of javascript. When the page is loaded the javascript is executed and generates an iframe containing the markup. If you are running firefox, right click an ad block and click 'This Frame>View Frame Source' to see the ad code. But if you look at the entire page's source code you see nothing but the javascript.
also, if adwords would have an effect on ranking/indexing, it could be considered as 'google being evil' if that is the case.. so it's most likely that adwords has exatcly 0 effect on ranking or getting indexed.
I had seen this post, its good info. Thanks for all of the feedback. It just made sense to me that if one arm of Google (adwords) was sending traffic to a particular page, then why wouldn't the other arm index the page.....Question answered.
No direct effect. However, actually having people view your site may increase the chance that you get some real natural links which would increase the chance of it being indexed.
It's highly unlikely people will exchange links with you because of having your site advertised in Adwords. Any experienced webmaster knows that links aren't easy to come by. It's like the old job saga, if you have experience, you'll get hired, but how do you get experience if nobody will hire you ? My answer to that is you have to beg, borrow, steal and lie to get your foot in the door. Do whatever it takes when you're starting outand hope it doesn't come back to nip you in the bud later on.
