I have a website which provides information about different kind of liquor brands of beer, tequila, scotch, vodka but doesn't sell them. Can i place adsense on the site? Will it be violation of their guidelines?

INFORMATION on a particular topic is different to sales or promotion of it with the content other than the fact that you are promoting it via a third party with the ads themselves. Hypothetically speaking, a site with content that just has information on it is not directly SELLING or PROMOTING IT. If your content is purely INFORMATIONAL I would check with Google to see if the site is allowed. They may say it doesn't qualify but it costs nothing to check. You need to go to the source in this instance. I know a guy that was running a site that was talking about how to play poker and he launched a product actually listing that site URL in the product itself to what must have been thousands of people that purchased it. Last time I checked the site was still running fine with ads... - Dean
