Can a website be made up from wordpress.com as well as wordpress.org
Can someone build a website from wordpress.com as well as wordpress.org If you can will the website be ranked as well by the search engines as blogger.com or another blogging / website would be.

 

The two are totally different solutions. Wordpress.com lets you install a site on THEIR SERVERS. The site plus all the content you post is hosted by them. You have less control with this site than you would have with one that you own.

On the other hand, wordpress.org lets you download the wordpress software to install on YOUR OWN SERVER (hosting companies like hostgator). You will need a domain name to implement this, which is a solution that you'll have much more control with.

Both sites are indexed and ranked just like any other site.

The better question may be, why do you want to do this? It's possible that you can complete your objective without the need to actually go about it in this way.

If your fixed on this idea you could setup two sites, one on each, and perform cross linking. It's going to be a management nightmare tho. It's also going to be a terrible experience for your customers. Personally I can't see any real benefit in doing this, but I'm really curious to hear why you want too.
