Can a subdomain rank well with the SE'S?.

Just wondering if a subdomain will rank well with the seach engines,

example I have this subdomain.

http://www.job-search.host-mega.com

This domain has been SEO'D to rank high and I an working on getting backlinks for the term "Job Search". Do I still have a good chance of ranking well with the SE's or just because it's a subdomain the SE'S will give less priority to my domain.

A sub-domain will be treated as a seperate site - and yes, it can rank well.

 

I have a sub-domain that's ranking fairly well for it's keywords

 

I have a few subdomains that were doing ok in SERP's. However they only did well when you are constantly working on them. Nowadays they are not doing brilliantly....lol. But Sub domain can do aswell as TLD you just have to work at it.

 

Same here.No need to worry about your subdomain.It is treated as seperate site.

 

For example job-search.blogspot.com can rank high ? I don't see to many .blogspot subdomains ranking high. Why ?

 

AFAIK blogspot is penalized by SE's, correct me if I'm wrong on this

 

A Subdomain can rank well in SE's because of the fact that it is treated as a different entity. A good example would be johnny.ihackstuff.com

for sure forums.digitalpoint.com itself is a subdomain
