This sometimes happens when the domain is very old and previously had quality backlinks. Then although all the backlinks are removed Google still assigns some PR to the site for some reason but it is no more than PR1.
You might be able to, but it would be extremely hard. In order to get ranked well in google you need backlinks, which gives you traffic, which gives you a PR ranking. They sort of all work in order and depend on each other.
Yes you can get at least PR0. Here's an example. www rubies-are-red dot com. Not a single backlink - not indexed - no real content. This is a future project that I don't want crawled and have a robots.txt disallowing all robots. Google still gave it a PR0 about 6 months ago.
I don't think that it will ever get a pr since no sites are pointing into it. PR is how Google thinks how important is your site.
Yah you are right. If the age of domain is more and it has good content it may have pr without any back links.
it's nofollow dear, & PR5 I'm not sure about it. But yes, the ad is there on any email/group email that is distributed...
yes any website without backlink get page rank if it has good content and user friendly website. http://www.onewaylinktool.com/
Yep, I have 2 domains with any backlinks, and they are PR1 and PR2... weird but its possible...i think cause are old domains... I have them for more then 3 years....
I don't think it's possible. Never seen such a scenario before whereby there's zero backlink and then gaining PR.
Well, back to the original thread question: I was hoping with all the people saying yes we'd finally get an example of a legit website with legit PR that had no links pointed to the domain that Yahoo or Google could find. Every one listed in this thread has backlinks found in one or both Yahoo and/or Google that were mentioned as examples. Nofollows and the link(s) not showing up in Google public reporting and such is irrelevant to the original question and the fact that the domain has "backlink(s)". So, it appears the answer is still "NO" to your question. A site can not have PR without backlinks. But that's just from the evidence presented in this thread. However, just as with aliens, I will never say anything like forever impossible... I'll just say no until I see otherwise
Yes.. ofcourse! I created a site a year ago..and added a few content.. I didn't promoted it atall. Now, it is PR1.So, it is possible.
well i can say if ur main site page rank is good u will get good page rank for other pages of ur site but atleast u should have to get back links for main page of ur site but remember that u when u making backlinks than anchor text should be different
Well I got a blogspot blog 3 months old, no promotion (not sure about backlink) but still got PR1 LOL
Wrong I have several domains that are indexed. No backlinks, no content, parked at godaddy cash parking. I even built a donation site that was put together to help fund much needed back surgery. Never submitted, however it was indexed in a week, and given PR0 as well.
I have seen some sites with 0 backinks and they had PR1. Its possible to get PR 1 or 2 for websites on old domains with good internally linked pages.
I think it is important to remember that backlinks are not the only thing google is looking at with PR. Plus, they can at anytime change things up just to stress us out. Anything is possible or maybe it isn't. Who knows with Google? When I was at SMX all Google reps could say in response to PR questions was "No Comment". Gotta love them...
