I decided to do some research on one of my musical idols and found out that this person's name get's searched 2,000+ times a day. (And yes, that is exact searches.) I figured that the competition would be pretty hefty but it turns out that it wasn't. There are absolutely no sites on page one of Google that seem to be optimizing for this person's name. So here I am, debating on weather I should buy into this exact match .net domain name and get to optimizing or if I should just keep searching. I don't know how this could be very profitable unless I found a CPM program. (Even then it would only bring a couple bucks a day.) I don't think that searches for a person would yield a high conversion rate for clicks on adsense, so I don't know how well that would work out either. What say you?

Yea you can do alot with it I think. I have seen someone with a website which assess how a celebrity dresses and what they where etc and then sells info about how people can look and feel like a celebrity etc like a fasion type membership site for those who want to be like the celerity. Would ofcourse depend who the celebrity is...Could get messy if it's someone like lindsy lohan but if it's Tiger Woods maybe you could sell advice on how to be a major "Player" like tiger woods if you know what i mean...
A lot of the programs that are based on hot trends seem to be doing exactly what you are talking about setting up for yourself. It will not be hard to rank on search engines if you reckon there is very little competition and if the star is someone who is in the news regularly then you will be able to cash in on Adsense, or even perhaps CPA or affiliate offers related to what the individual does (i.e. like golf products for the Tiger Woods example above). You should do well, there is no reason a person's name should have any less results than a product and it sounds like you have done your homework on the competition. You could monetize with Adsense or affiliate programs.
