Can a second person have DP account from the same IP

I have a friend that I am helping out on learning a few things about web design/adsense/web promotion and I want them to have an account here and start participating in the forums

will I get banned if I have him register from my computer and then when he logs off and I sign in the forum script realizes its the same IP ?

I am only asking because I read in the forum rules that only one account is permitted here and maybe this will be considered as a breach of the rules

    Thanks for the consideration

It is permissible for two distinct people to share a computer but it puts a burden on both of you not to jeopardise the account of the other. If you proceed with this be sure to alert one of the mods, the user ID of your friend. The two of you must not bump each other's thread, trade itrader, ...

You know the old saying, "Caesar's wife must be beyond reporach." The same is true of two people logging on from the same computer.

Everything Shannon said was 100% correct

    Here is some other things

    1) No tag team bumping

    2) No cross reping

Also keep those in mind as well :)

Thanks a lot for the fast answer guys ...

I take it you are administrators ? how do I inform administrators about such event (registering my friend)

SundayBrew do you mean to say I can NEVER post in any of his threads or he in any of mine ? or I should not just do it for no reason ? and once in a while posting on his threads is acceptable ?

The brewster is just a member here at DP but Smyrl is a famous and very likeable moderator. Just PM the info to any of the mods you find here. All will be fine after that as long as you do the right thing.

I am just a member BUT yes Shannon is a Mod

    What I mean was this.

Lets say YOU are selling a site ,

Your "buddy" should not be posting things like this in YOUR threads.

    For example

    "pm me more info"

"Oh cool, thanks for the help"

Another words if you guys are sharing the same pc , there is NO reason you should be communicating on the same thread.......Just whisper in his ear instead :).

You see what I mean, right...I am sure you do :)

Its kinda like that whole ebay bid shilling thing ...

Yes I understand that I should avoid rediculous things like bumping and talking to him in the first person .... but what if in his thread he needs help explaining things ... maybe its his sales thread and he is being attacked ... can I step in and give my opinion ?

    I assume I can right ?

BTW: sundaybrew I have met you also on searchen forums, there my nick is GiorgosK, nice to see you here too

Buy Sell and Trade is the main place to worry about posting in da same thread, for example *bumping* his thread by pretending to ask questions, PM Sent, good product...., or pading his rep or iTrader. If he for example makes a help me thread in the Apache forum, and you know da answer, you can help him!!

On the Buy Sell and Trade area, post as you would if you two didn't even know each other!

... all the comments make sense ... I was planning to post in his threads ONLY if I was interested in the topic anyway and had something to add ... not interested in bumping threads, or giving fake itraders to anyone ... but good to keep in mind all these

OK people thanks for all your prompt replies ...
