[h=1]Can a perfectly healthy laptop battery die overnight?[/h]Hi, I use an HP laptop, which is about 20 months old now, but I had a battery life of about 3 hours all this while. Yesterday, My laptop began to run extremely slow, and it wouldn't charge my battery. Now I can work my laptop only with the AC charger. Is it possible my battery just died overnight? And how is it my processor is super slow the same time?

the battery should hold less less energy while aging, you may try Battery Calibration. but a 20 months HP laptop battery is dying as the li-ion battery pack only support 300-500 recycles.
as the battery can't supply enough power, the computer will run really slow.

I'm totally agree with "seofan" that your have to change your battery now, its too old to working perfectly with your system. 20 months are biggest count for a battery life, its time for change for working of your system.

You could buy a replacement battery from the HP website. This can be pretty expensive though, you might consider investing in an used computer and changing the battery. Just make sure they match up. It could actually end up being less expensive than buying the official replacement battery.

    hi,

i agree with battdigi, as battery ages, the less energy it can hold.
Definitely can slows down your computer/laptop.

Try to take care of the battery, let the battery rest for 2-4 hours after using it for a wholeday.

    Cheers!
