With all due respect I don't agree with you. I also have plenty of experience in managing both niche and general directories. When it comes down to "income", general directories always have produced far better results than niche. When I say general directories, I meant to say general directories that are properly maintained and promoted.
A question to those who say general directories earn more...What percentage of your visitors are non-submitting traffic? Meaning, how many people use your directories to find sites?
( What percentage of your visitors are non-submitting traffic ) and do you think the submitting will hide in the niche directories ! They are there for all the directories. Any general directory with good admin to run it in the right way will be good niche directory, but the niche will never be that that's why the income will be less on the niche.
I have no idea what you are saying. I asked about how many folks submit vs use a general directory for finding sites. What are you talking about "submitting will hide in the niche directories"?
This is a totally different subject matter. The question here is which one makes more money. The percentage of non-submitting traffic is quiet high and not many people actually use directories to find sites in my opinion. I think it is more or less the same for niche directories too. Vast majority of people use Google & other search engines to find sites not web directories and it does apply do both niche and general directories.
Niche directories makes good amount of money if they are promoted properly. However, I don't think most of them earn over $100,000 a year but a niche directory can certainly earn a decent amount of money if you take care of quality.
hello friends, I am new to SEO so can anyone tell me that what is the best way to find the niche directory and what is its benefits.
Directories on both ends of the spectrum are generating 6 figures. Not a lot, but there are some that do. That said, there are general PPC sites that generate that kind of revenue stream as well. However, in my own experience the niche' ones have generated more.
I have absolutely no doubt there are directories making 6 figures a year. I have not seen any niche directory making that kind of money but, again I would not say it is impossible.
I do not know for sure. I do not operate a niche' directory. But I do run a very so rather large niche sites that generate more than their general counter part. I would imagine depending on the niche', it may be quite plausible that it could generate much more than a generalized version.
I cannot say this is impossible too, but I think that High PR general directories are better than niche directories too.
Almost anything has good potential. You have the lay the ground work and apply the efforts and techniques which have been mentioned in the replies above to be successful and even then you might need a bit of luck.
I think niche directories can make a great deal as they quickly become the go to place for anything relating to the niche
"Better" in what way exactly? From a end user's perspective, or the directory owner? Monetarily, or traffic wise? Can you expand on this?
