I want to build directory myself and also will have other service webmasters might be interested in. What I saw other directory owners do is make that offer in the first confirmation email. Because many webmasters dont use their primary email for directory submission, that first email is probably your only chance to make an offer
It would if you need to confirm your submission in order to get listed Just need to let them know that they MUST confirm, then they will open that first email. After that the chance is lost
Well you would need to make sure that they see that about the confirmation while they are still on the directory. Many people dont read lists of guidelines so it would be missed if placed within those. Possibly as part of the link submitted message, large enough that they see it and clear enough that they know what wont happen if they dont confirm their submission.
Assuming you've already pre-notified them when they signed up and or offered them the ability to opt in or out, I see no problems with contacting what are essentially "Clients" with news, information or updates/offers. Be sure and spell this out in your listing terms - TOS/AUP and be sure also to offer them an easy way to opt out of these announcements.
As long as you provide a check box to opt in at the time of website submission to a newsletter, I do not see a reason why not.
yes.it must be related to their services....I always received a mail from directories offering their services to upgrade my subscription.
