can a cricket website make money from adsense

i am passionate about cricket and intend to develop a website around cricket,

does anyone think i can make money from adsense through such a topic or is it a waste of time?

ps how do you get sponsors onto your webpage?

do they pay big bux?

any topic can make money, but unless you have some reason for people to just love your site and come by thousands, than no topic is going to get you much cash.

getting sponsors? adsense is a type of sponsor... if you are seeking particular add space sales, than for most profitable experience you will again need a website with tons of traffic...at witch point you can contact stores/ other website owners that you think may be interested in advertising on your site.... or if your truly doing well...they will come to you.

Go for insurance, finance, forex trading, etc.

I love chess but I don't want to start a website on chess unless I can get affiliate programs to sell golden chess pieces.

I may sound harsh but it is the reality. I know what I'm talking about because I'm a full-time Adsenser.

 

I would disagree with ainmohd. Make a site about what you love because you'll work longer and harder on it. I made a website about mortgages and one after my hobby. My mortgage site gets $1 per click but hardly ever gets any pageviews. My hobby site gets 10,000 pageviews a day and makes me $20/day.

I'm in total agreement with you that one should build a site about what one's adore/love. The problem is that I love chess but it wouldn't be making much Adsense money.

Before I retire in 2005, I was in the financial industry (two years in London with a good knowledge about insurance too) for more than 30 years so I have a number of insurance and financial websites that are making good Adsense money.

How many of us are lucky enough to be gainfully employed in what we love?

 

If alot of people are looking for a cricket website I don't see why not.

So i say better leave it alone, choose another niche with less than 5.000.000 competition, and keywords paying $3 + for click...! Good luck!

i tried it on my two cricket sites but never earned more than $1 a day this is not really a good niche to create website try something else.!

 

You know that Cricket is a game thats played in only few countries. In cricket world cup, we have only about 12 teams.

No cricket in USA, China etc.

Anyway, traffic = $$$, so if you think you can bring in some good traffic, then go for it.

If you can build a site with live cricket stats, then that will help a lot.

 

i personally recommend you not to build a cricket site!

i currently have two cricket wallpaper's websites with Pr-2 and i am not earning more than $0.50 from them,

so please keep my words in mind before taking any decision
