I Have a friend that works for Blue Bell Creameries as a (route salesman)and he has been sick with the flu over a week, been to the doctor and everything.
Can the company demote him from a salesman to an dock worker legally?

Have him bring in his papers and then speak to a lawyer if they won't change their ways.

If he lets them, yes. If he decides to stand up for his rights and hire a good lawyer, no.

It's very bad. Company simply can't demote anyone due to temporary health reasons. If a person has attained an injury which can't be cured easily or it has life long impact, then can only company can take this step

Depends really. I think if he can provide medical certicates that hes really sick then he has a good chance of getting his old job back.

No it is not correct or possible to demoting legally.... If your friend have submitted proper papers including medical certificates and already informed the Company about his ill health and unable to come for job. Last week i took leave for my office due to my ill health viral fever, i have informed my Team Leader and also i have got my medical certificates. So no one asked me a question.

A good lawyer will prevent such thing happening.
