Did you know that bestiality and homosexuality are the only two sinful acts in Scripture where only the action, rather than the attitude (and action) is condemned?
With GOD and HIS WORD, all other sin is always an attitude before it ever manifest itself as an action. Example: Lust is [Sin] the attitude that leads to bestiality and the homosexual act; On the other hand, all killing of humans, by humans, is not a sin. . .it is only a sin if it was premeditated.

That being stated, in order for me to say that homosexuality is not a choice, I would then have to eventually say that all of sin is not a choice. . .And any Sin that a person commits, according to Scripture is a choice. . .and GOD has provided THE REMEDY for and THE WAY to prevent from recurring.

When you lower GOD'S Standard, you set your own standard. . .and GOD don't play that.

    BTW,
Did you know that GOD has also provided THE WAY for you and I to be as PERFECT as HE HIMSELF IS?

I thought sin wasn't a choice... I've countless christians say that we are all sinners from the time we are born, or that if we aren't, we will be?

The problem with this is, you're assuming I think he is perfect. The thing is - even if he were real - I wouldn't see him as perfect at all.

Being born in sin, which lead to the person becoming a sinning sinner is not a choice; you're born that way.

However, to remain a sinner is a (your) choice.

That make sense TN, except for one small thing. . .you'll not know in this realm (Physical) whether HE IS, and/or HE IS PERFECT, or not. . .if you never investigate totally on your own.

And again, by the time that you know (right after leaving the Physical realm. . .i.e: Graveyard Dead) for certain that HE IS and that HE IS PERFECT, you will have discovered it too, too, too, late.

There is nothing to discover about this invisible man in the sky.

You didn't really answer the question. Do you believe homosexuality is a choice? I grew up with about 3 different kids that all turned out to be gay. Guess what. They didn't decide one day they wanted to be gay. So what your saying is this imaginary invisible man in the sky has basically set people up for failure? Set them up to sin? Wow, thats really an awesome guy your worshiping there. Hope your not on his "f-k him" list.

Also, if you are born in sin, and you must be baptized to be saved, and a fetus is a living thing (I believe this, and am strongly against abortion, but that is another issue completely) the why are there still born babies and babies who die soon after birth? Why do they die without even being given a chance to be "saved"? Instead, this invisible man condemns these babies to hell? Yeah, that makes sense. Not a very merciful God if you ask me. Nor a very loving one.

With the choice issue to believe, if someone doesn't believe it, they just don't. Perhaps if they repeat, "G-d is good, G-d is great" about 1000 times a day, maybe that would help. Although that would be brainwashing through repetition, and not really a choice that comes from the heart. I'm assuming then that you believe it doesn't really matter what we feel, as long as we say the right words?

Nehemiah, why do you think it is that the average person seems to have more kindness and compassion than G-d? I wouldn't elect to have a human being burnt and tortured for all eternity, simply because they don't believe in me, would you?

If he is truly the perfect and merciful, all loving god you say he is, then it would never be too late. If we live forever after physical death, then why limit our time to choose to let him into our hearts? It seems foolish for a god to put time restraints on someone, when he exists outside of time. It makes me see it as a mortal action - would god not be above such mortal actions?

Nehemiah, Jesus was saying that those who believe in Him will be resurrected and not suffer the second death of revelation.

You seem to have a lot of biblical knowledge, but not a lot of experience to go along with that. Try to find a balance. No one can answer all the stuff you throw out there, so I'm just giving up.

Note: If you want to read a good book, try The Life and Times of Jesus The Messiah. It will really shed a lot of light on Jesus' teachings and how they related to the day. Covers everything from the Sheep and Goat judgement to Abraham's Bosom and much more. I found it very enlightning.

    Take care.

There are many interpretations of what hell may be like. Some people believe that the "second death" is just that - a death that is permanent. Others believe it to be permanent torture, while remaining alive.

I have read very convincing arguments from both sides... as a Christian, I believe this should be a non issue though. It really doesn't matter what we believe about hell - as long as we know that it isn't good. I'd be careful not to go around saying you are certain about hell or to condemn those who believe differently than you.

I don't know that this argument is right, but here is one:
God gives us the choice to either live for this life or for the next. Those that choose to live for this life get what they want - this life. They die the second death. God was being loving to them by even giving them the chance to live. You must agree that this life within it self is a gift, right? He does not owe them eternal life.

I'd be happy to talk to anyone who'd like me to. I'm really not interested in arguing, but rather, talking. I like learning about other viewpoints, so as long as you bring it forward in a non-argumentative manner I'd be glad to listen. So yeah, anyone feel free to send me a private message here or whatever if you wanna talk. :)

How is repeating "G-d is good, G-d is great" about 1000 times a day", any different than you repeating "if someone doesn't believe it, they just don't". . ."about 1000 times a day", which is what you seem to be doing here?

Here it is again. . .for the 1000th:D time: Its all about your choice. If you choose to believe GOD, good! The consequences of that choice is Everlasting Life and all that goes along with it.
If on the other hand, you choose to NOT believe GOD, okay! The consequences of that choice is Everlasting Death/Dying and all that goes along with it.

This world, this universe, belongs to GOD. All souls (you, I, and everybody else) belong to GOD. . .and its/we're all HIS to do with as HE pleases. HE has given us humans a Gift with an Ability (not afforded to any of HIS other Creation, except for angels); that Gift with that Ability is: FREEWILL/CHOICE.

    If you choose HIM as your GOD, no Problem;
If you choose not to have HIM as your GOD, then, in HIS INFINITE MERCY, HE has provided the only place that you (an everlasting soul) can occupy and be away from HIM fully and totally, be your own god, do your own thing without any interference from HIM whatsoever. That place(s) is in Hell and/or the Lake of fire and brimstone.
The severity of Hell, as many will see later, is not so much the condition(s) nor the Everlasting state that you're in there, but rather it is the total and abject Absence of the Presence of GOD. And you'll be able to see Heaven (and the New Earth) and never ever never get there.

And really Rebecca, you keeping using the word "feel", which is a misused word that GOD could give less than a tinker's damn about. In fact I challenge you to do a word search of Scripture (KJV or NKJV) for the word "feel", as you mean it when you state "I'm assuming then that you believe it doesn't really matter what we feel, as long as we say the right words?". I can tell you before you look, its not there.

What Adam and Eve "felt" is what got us in trouble in the first place; but beyond, what we "feel" is what keeps us in trouble. And lest you buy into the fallacy that we're messed up and GOD is taking out on us, what Adam and Eve did, we're messed up, because we like being messed up!

Ergo when we are punished by GOD, it because of what we did and/or didn't do. Adam got the ball rolling, but each one of us, INDIVIDUALLY, kept/keeps the ball rolling.

Because you and I judge "the average person" according to your standard and/or my standard, and NOT according to GOD'S STANDARD. . .which is PERFECTION.
And you would too "elect to have a human being" that didn't fit into your plan, "burnt and tortured".
You and I do it every day when we condone the MURDER ("abortion") of thousand of innocent babies each and every day. And this is just one example. And we've done it so much so now, that we've become blinding to the implications and ramifications that it has on us individually and collectively.

Outside of choosing to believe GOD or not believe GOD, Everyone of our individual and collective choices has consequences. . .that we Cannot Absolutely know what that consequence will be. . .NOR can we control those consequences.

People who called themselves "did burn humans... along with countless other cruelties".

Yes it would. No matter how "truly the perfect and merciful, all loving" that Doctor was in my earlier example to you, if you didn't heed his warning in this life, you willing chose to die!

    After Physical death, you don't get a chance to change (Spiritually nor Eternally);
What you choose Spiritually (to remain Spiritually dead or become Spiritually Alive) while you're in the Physical (not yet Graveyard dead), determines what you'll be in the Eternal (Everlastingly so; ALIVE or Dead/dying).

Its your choice. . .and guess what? GOD won't interfere in that particular choice, Now, Later, or Never.

I know what "Jesus was saying"; I'm most certain that JESUS HIMSELF, knew what HE "was saying" as well. You seem to be the one with a "zeal" that is "not according to knowledge".

Since we still see, even Saved people, as dying when we bury them, we've tried to rectify that Scripture to suit our ignorance.

When JESUS CHRIST died in my place, not only did HE pay the penalty for my Sin(s), HE also experience the Physical death that I will never have to experience. That is why Paul could rejoice and assuredly (albeit sarcastic) ask "Oh death where is your sting?").

Before you and I can know that we're Physically dead here, we'll be in HIS PRESENCE asking, ":confused:What just happened here???. . .there was this Mack truck barreling down on me and. . .hey!!! YOU'RE my LORD and my GOD!!!:D"

The concept of hell is merely a concept, it is not a place and surely does not exist. same is valid for soul: a concept invented by the religious people to make you give them your vote and your hard earned money.

It's different, because I believe the second statement.

Believe or die. G-d is good, G-d is great.

If that's not mercy, I don't know what is. How do you KNOW all this stuff is even true? I mean really?

There will be a new earth? If I assume G-d exists, let me ask you some questions. In your opinion, did he intend to stop creating life with the angels? I think the purpose of the angels was just to sit around all day and tell G-d what a great guy he was. When that wasn't working out so well, he created man. This experiment may be going a little haywire as well. Will he create yet another life form for the new earth? Another thing, Christians are far from perfect, it's just that they accept Jesus. If he takes all these Christians to heaven just as they are, they will probably fight and kill eachother. Therefore, will G-d somehow make them perfect before he admits them to heaven? If so, why can't he just do that with everyone? BTW, how are you so sure about the severity or non-severity of hell?

This statement from you bothered me the most. What I feel is what guides my life. It's my belief, it's how I determine right or wrong. To ask me to deny what I feel, doesn't work for me.

I agree that we are responsible for our actions. Hey, this is off the topic but recently I read about this guy currently claiming to be Jesus Christ, he has a bunch of followers in like 33 countries and they are tattooing 666 on their bodies. He says that G-d never woke up adam from removing his rib, and this whole life is just a dream. Do you have any scripture that proves G-d woke Adam up, if you do you could show his followers that the new Jesus is lying.

On the abortion issue, I've always been pro-choice. I don't personally believe it's right, on the other hand, I do believe women have rights to their body. I agree with you though, it's awful.

It's been very nice talking to you.:)

Nehemiah, you didn't answer my question. You're very good at dodging questions which are not exactly favorable to your delusional world. Please re read this and answer:

Hostlonestar, you seem to think a tad bit more of yourself than you ought to. Who the heck are you that I should dodge? Is that the "delusional world" that you live in?

When I first read your post, this is as far as I got. If "There is nothing to discover about this invisible man in the sky", why should I go on?
Oh, but that's right, you were making that statement as a posturing gesture for the rest of your 'at' comrades, huh?

The act of "homosexuality", just like bestiality, is a choice. Just like the act of adultery, fornication, murder, idolatry, unbelief, etc.
However, "homosexuality" and bestiality are the only two sins in Scripture where the act, not the attitude, is condemned.
And what I'm "saying" is nobody is born "gay", straight, prone to pedophilia, etc. You have no sexual preferences at birth. These are learned behaviors and/or attitudes.
I'm further "saying" that, GOD "has basically set people (who Believe and Obey HIM) up for" a Life and a Lifestyle that infinitely beyond their current ability to even imagine, let alone comprehend.

And in the midst of all your convoluted delusional thinking, try thinking about this (since you're so busy coming up with questions in an attempt to justify, to yourself, your own unbelief):

If HE "Set them up to sin", then why would HE PROVIDE them with HIMSELF, as the only way to Pay the Penalty for that "sin"? Now either GOD is as dumb as a fence post, or you are.
Remember, I don't subscribe to "gray areas".

According to you, GOD "set them up to sin"; but then this same GOD, provides the ones who, according to you, HE "set. . .up to sin", THE ONLY WAY that they can avoid have to pay, themselves, for those sins that HE, according to you, "set them up to sin". Seems to me that it definitely ain't GOD, that's as dumb as a fence post.

What sends a person to Hell is Sin and rejecting JESUS CHRIST's Payment for his/her sin(s); THE ONLY WAY for that person to avoid Hell is Repenting, Admitting guilt to sinning against GOD, Asking HIM for Mercy, and Receiving JESUS CHRIST as the Propitiation for his/her sin and allowing JESUS CHRIST to become their SAVIOR and LORD.

Now. . .and don't miss this part:
    All this can be done and is done, by Accepting (a Choice) or Rejecting (a Choice); Choosing is a conscious act of the will; Choosing is a conscious act of the will; Choosing is a conscious act of the will;

Since babies have no conscious act of the will and they're very accepting of anything that is offered to them, they automatically (so to speak) go to Heaven and/or Everlasting Life when thy Physically die.

In other word, my dear Hostlonestar, The same GOD that, according to you, "Set them up to sin", has already taken care of their Salvation. . .even before they're "still born", Murdered ("aborted"), etc.

Now then, "Yeah, that makes sense". And you don't even know the words "merciful" and "loving" when it come to "this invisible man in the sky". . .aka GOD!
