I have a campaign that is getting loads of clicks. After checking most of them are junk that is not converting, so I decided to pause the campaign.

However, I am sill getting hundreds of clicks. It is like hell, there is no way to make this thing stop! It has been at least 3 hours since I paused it and clicks are still flowing in

Anyone else suffered something like this before?

Did you sign up for an auto-surf type campaign?

Are you sure the reporting isn't just delayed?

Autosurf? What does that have to do with this?

Nope, reporting is not delayed, I am keeping close track of my visitor stats and I am getting tons of referrals from adwords and they haven't stopped or slowed down at all.

Maybe they are returning visitors. I think Adwords cookie last for six months.

If you are using Google analytics for tracking then you will see visitors from Adwords for a long time.

Here is an email from Google analytics support:

sachin410 is correct, it's just delayed reporting data.

How are you identifying your visitors?

If you're sure, you should contact your rep ASAP.

I have a tracker that tells me exactly where my visitors are coming from. This is live data, no delayed reports or crap like that

It has been well over 4 hours since I paused the campaign and I am still getting flooded by clicks.

Even though I spend over $15k I don't have a rep, so there is nothing I can do.

Delete the ad(s) - your keywords/quality score will still be in tact but if there's no ad to show you can't get clicks:)

Regarding a refund if one is in order...

    Tools > My Change History.

That should show what time you paused your campaign(s)/account and assuming you can demonstrate that clicks were still accruing after that time a refund is a slam dunk.
